Video transcript:  Hi, and welcome to Sign Baby Sign. This week is dedicated to our fathers.  Now, let me give you a little bit of background.  In general, the male tends to be signed at the forehead and the females are signed at the chin level.  For “father”, take your open five hand and tap your forehead two times for “father”. Happy Father’s Day, and thank you for the wonderful job you do in raising your children.

6 Ways Children Can Make Their Dad Feel Special

  1. Tell him how great a dad he is in front of other people.
  2. Ask him for a piggyback ride.
  3. Draw a picture with just you and him.
  4. Sit on his lap and be real still.
  5. WriteI love you dad” on paper and slip it under his door.
  6. Create a secret code just between you and him.

In my house, we use this sign regularly when we are trying to find Dad, whether it’s for fun or for real. “Where’s Dad?” Learn both signs to use with your children. They are easy for the young ones to pick up on.
