I work in an elementary classroom as a 1:1 paraprofessional with a student who is deaf and Autistic. This course has helped me feel more confident going into the new school year. It has given me a good bank of basic ASL signs to use with all of the students in our self-contained classroom. Many of our students on the Autism spectrum use ASL as part of how they communicate. I found Cynthia to be a proficient and enthusiastic ASL teacher and I like how the video used teachers and students in classroom settings to help explain how the signs could be used in any classroom to benefit communication and classroom management. I also purchased flashcards from the site which I am using to help reinforce my learning of the signs. I highly recommend this course.
